Joel A. Neuenschwander

Joel A. Neuenschwander, 82, Berne passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Swiss Village. He was born to Amos and Lavina (Amstutz) Neuenschwander in Orville, Ohio on October 20, 1928.

He was married on June 6, 1954 to Lydia (Neuenschwander) who is deceased .

Joel is survived by three sons, three brothers, and two sisters. sons Michael (Martha) Neuenschwander,Berne, Roger (Jenny) Neuenschwander, Berne and Allen Neuenschwander, Willshire, Ohio.Brothers Lloyd Neuenschwander, Berne, Denver Neuenschwander, Geneva, and Ben Neuenschwander, Culverson, Nebraska. Two sisters Lorene Brenneman, Ronks, Pa., and Estella Nussbaum, Berne. Seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Wilbert and Ellis.

Joel worked for Berne Farm Bureau, Lehman Feed Mill, Adams County Surveyors Department, was a driver for an Amish crew, and a poultry farmer. Special interest included playing cards, especially Rook.

Funeral services are Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Berne Evangelical Church at 10:00 am with visitation one hour prior to services.

Visitation also Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor Kent Fahl.

Burial in the Berne Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the church and/or Swiss Village Samaritan fund.
